Get ready for a trip to British Columbia's beautiful Vancouver, where you will explore and solve your way around the amazingly accurate map until all twenty three of the locations have been visited a minimum of three times. You will navigate your way around the city as your chosen avatar. Each location will open with a tidbit of information about the location on a postcard and then opens up into a cleverly designed hidden object scene. Each scene will contain a list of if items to be found. You'll enjoy the strategic placement of the objects and you'll notice that several of them are arranged in a "hidden in plain sight" style. This is amusing and also challenging as many of them are so well placed, they will stump even the professional hidden object gamers! When you see a blue item on your list, it indicates that the object may be found in a hidden scene within the scene.

When the hidden object phase is completed, you are presented with a mini game, which when completed, leads you to the next location. It will continue like that throughout the entire city, with each location beginning with a trivia postcard, then the hidden object scene, and finally the mini-game. The scenes are wonderfully and cleverly made as they artfully depict each location with amazing accuracy.

If you find yourself stumped and cannot find an object, you can use hints. You can add extra hints, extra time, or even extra points by locating the subtly sparkling coins in each scene. You gain more points the faster you locate items. The more time left on the timer when you complete the scene, the more points you earn. You will see your totals at the end of each scene to help you keep track. Another token to be on the lookout for are the "skip" coins. They are sparsely scattered throughout the game and should be used sparingly, but will come in handy in order to bypass a game that is taking forever or stumps you all together.

This game, along with the others in The Big City Adventure series is great for players who delight mostly in the hidden object scenes rather than the adventure type games with stories attached. And, if you're new to hidden object games, or you simply want to leisurely peruse and enjoy the scenes and puzzles with no pressure, you can always play in un-timed mode. Either way you go about it, Big City Adventure: Vancouver is nonstop colorful, informative fun for players of all ages.
