Doesn't the title alone just send chills up your spine? In this Midnight Mystery, you will be unraveling the truth as to how a famous author named Nathaniel Hawthorne met his demise so many years ago. All we know is that that there was a bizarre snow storm and the ghost of Mr. Hawthorne is determined to know what actually went awry and will not stop until he has answers. You will be helping with the investigation, meeting several entities along the way, including more ghosts and other cryptic anomalies.

The hints do not recharge here, however you may add to the number of hints available by crow collecting throughout the game. Don't panic, it is unlikely you will use your hints to the point of running out. You may have to resist the temptation to use them from time to time, but with a little brainpower, you should be able to get through most of the scenes and puzzles with little trouble.

Sometimes your ghostly witnesses will have you solving puzzles or figuring out how to use your inventory items in order to give them something. These puzzles require relatively average thinking power. If you're not seeing it right away, give yourself a few minutes and the task should become clear. Oh, and don't forget to check out your Achievements and see your potential awards.

Be prepared to feel like you're really in Salem Massachusetts during the 17th century. The graphics are stunning and spot on as far as the time period. The dark and eerie background sounds in addition to the ghostly whispers may leave you feeling a bit chilled, but in an enchanting and fun way, not necessarily to the point of being truly scary. HOG adventure lovers will agree that this is a top notch winner of a game that begs to be played.
