The Mystery of the Crystal Portal: Beyond the Horizon game
This is part two of the original Mystery of the Crystal Portal in which journalist, Nicole Rankwist was in search of her father in a strange world of floating islands resembling all that may be left of Atlantis. If you did not play the first game, don't worry, you will be brought up to speed in the beginning by a short cut scene. In the first game, Nicole searched for her father, and though she finds him in this one, the task will now be figuring out how to get home. You will be helping Nicole's father put the pieces together for he believes he knows just what to do.
The Mystery of the Crystal Portal: Beyond the Horizon is not your typical "find objects from your list," it is more dynamic in that you are required to find items to add to other objects in order to make it work and move on. This is a fresh spin in the world of hidden object games, and if you're one who plays them all, you'll find that it gives it a new and dynamic feel that captures your interest.
They certainly did not skimp on the visuals; they are just as magnificent, if not more than those of its predecessor. The puzzles are challenging, yet you do not really lose anything for clicking around and exploring as with some other HOGs, which makes for extra fun and relaxing game play.
You'll find that you're not simply searching for random items in hidden object scenes. It all has a purpose, designed in a manner that requires you collect a certain set of items to complete each task, yet you might have to solve an entirely different task before you are able to find everything you need for another. It keeps it relevant and interesting.
The hidden object scenes are delightfully packed with cleverly hidden items, and they are truly stunning to look at. Where the objects are a bit smaller and somewhat more difficult to spot, it might be a good idea to start on "casual" mode, which will allow you more time to search as well as help navigate you through the game with helpful hints. However, if you're a HOG guru, you may find that casual mode is not challenging enough for you. In that case, "normal" mode is recommended. Either way, you will surely be impressed and enjoy several hours of enchanting fun with Mystery of the Crystal Portal: Beyond the Horizon.
