Think being stuck on an island forever would be bad? Try it with a bunch of pirates! This one may cause laugh lines as it certainly did not skimp on the witty humor and all around amusement. You'll find yourself laughing or, at the very least, grinning to yourself as you help Crusoe lift the curse which has him and a group of pirates infinitely doomed to an island.

Because it was all the captain's fault in the first place, he will be the target for the potion Crusoe must create to lift the curse. This requires collecting what are called Black Spot objects from the entire crew of pirates. These items are used to create the potion to be later used on the Captain, but in the mean time, it's a blast trying it out on his pet parrot, who is now a monkey because he was afflicted with the curse as well. He turns into all kinds of outlandish things!

In order to retrieve these cursed objects, Crusoe (you, the player) must troubleshoot a bit and figure out what must be done depending on which difficulty level you choose. In relaxed mode, there is no timer and there are more hints. It all depends on how much brain power you wish to employ.

Robinson Crusoe and the Cursed Pirates offers a splendid array of mini games within the hidden object scenes and they are always a pleasant surprise in that they are all unique and clever, making them fun to play rather than skip. They require a little thinking, but are not difficult to the point of frustration.

The game is beautifully presented with crisp and colorful scenes and just the right touch of background sounds and music. The characters are fantastic and they all have their own persona. Even if you're not into pirates, you are sure to enjoy this game thoroughly. It is a spectacular HOG adventure with just the right mix of fun, challenge and humor, it is sure to leave you wanting more.
