As an FBI agent, the worst has happened as Claire Ellery has lost her partner, Tom. She had a terrible vision and now it has materialized. Strangely, it appears that Tom may have known his fate as he has left a distinct path of evidence. He has written clue lists on cards and placed them in various places. It is now up to Claire to unravel the bizarre mystery as she investigates in an effort to find out just what happened to her respected partner and friend who lost his life battling a ruthless, power hungry woman.

When Claire arrives in each place, she will have to locate the cards Tom has carefully hidden and find the items (clues) he has written on each one. Depending on which of three types of cards you find, you will either be searching for a list of items or looking for whatever silhouettes are on the card, or reassembling broken objects. Strange Cases: The Lighthouse Mystery does a great job mixing it up. You never feel like you're repeating re-worked cookie cutter puzzles. The mini games within the game are fresh and clever, however if you want to skip past them, you do have that option.

There is no particular order of play outlined here, you may have to do a little extra thinking to figure out what your next course of action should be, and some gamers prefer it that way. It helps spice up the challenge and it's always fun to explore and be surprised.

The game is executed brilliantly with fantastic cut scenes, graphics and background sound which truly match the theme of the game. Players will also appreciate the logical storyline which eventually has a clear ending, whereas some of the HOGs out there may sort of leave you hanging. This is definitely one you shouldn't miss.
